In order to receive a Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, you must pass the Theory examination. You must also meet ONE of the following requirements:

1. Completion of a 200 hour permanent cosmetic tattooing training program in a Virginia licensed Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing School

2. Completion of a 200-hour permanent cosmetic tattooing training program that is substantially equivalent to the Virginia program. 

3. Completion of substantially equivalent permanent cosmetic tattooing training (consisting of less than 200 hours of training) and  within the United States and its territories. 

4. Three years of permanent cosmetic tattooing work experience within the previous five years.
